Hello! Welcome to my little website. Happy to have you here. A bit about me, I, similar to many other people, became deeply interested in the end-of-life doula, or death doula, role over the COVID pandemic. During a conversation with my therapist I was mulling over what area of caregiving I could explore and for awhile I was considering the birth doula role but it just didn’t feel right. My therapist suggested the death doula route and hearing those two words strung together felt like a dream. How could that be a thing I had never heard of and why was every fiber of my being all of a sudden alert and energized at the thought of the opportunity!?
A couple days later I found the UVM certificate program and the journey brings us to today as I embark into the world of Hospice volunteering with HopeHealth Hospice Center in Providence, Rhode Island.
In November 2022, working with my dear friend Judith Sutphen, we organized EndofLifeRI.org. A Rhode Island support and education collaborative for the emerging field of death doulas and other end of life professionals. If you or someone you know are looking for an end of life community here in Rhode Island please reach out!
